Memories & More!!!

So this past week I was lucky enough to receive an email from Gina at Memories and More - a retail storefront in West Kelowna asking me if I was interested in being a part of her Design Team.  Once I got over the giddiness of receiving an email like that - I quickly responded and let her know that I was totally interested in being a part of her team.  It just so happens that I was in Kelowna last weekend, so I popped on over to the Westside and met with the staff and received my first BIG bag of goodies!! Let me just say that Gina is VERY generous and I have been dying to get to my craft desk ever since the weekend to play with these fabulous goodies.  If you are ever on the Westside - check out the store.  It is LOADED with goodies and with CHA going on right now - even more are on the way!!!   You can also check out the BLOG to keep up with all the latest and greatest news!  Anyway - here are a couple of the cards I worked on today - I will send these to Gina to feature in her store and showcase her new products!  Let me know what you think! :)

Friday Sketchers!

Had fun playing today - finally got to spend some time at the craft desk.  Here's my take on this week's Friday Sketchers sketch....

And here's my take:

I had to mess with the bling a little bit and the sentiment - but I still think you can see the sketch.   I finally got to try the resist technique (not sure that is what its called) with my copic blender pen.  I colored his scarf and then once it dried, I used my blender pen to draw in the stripes!! Worked like a charm!   Can't wait to try this technique again - perhaps a plaid next time! :)

No challenges today - just a simple card that I made for my step-daughter's shower this weekend.  I really wish that stickles showed up better in pictures as this one is really much prettier in real life.  I have added stickles to the middle of the butterfly and as well to the centers of the flowers.  I guess you'll just have to use your imagination! I hope she likes it! :)

Your Next Stamp....

I was alerted to a DT call this month over at Your Next Stamp.  Now sadly, I had never even heard of these stamps (yes, I live in a cave) so I flew over to check it out!! Cute cute cute!!!!  How fun would it be to color images like these:

Anyway - I thought I would throw my hat in the ring and try out for the team.  My most recent stuff can be seen on my blog (Click the blog title at the top - then scroll down), but I thought I'd dredge up a few of these old favorites to showcase in hopes to earn a spot on this fabulous team!!   Wish me luck!!

Mojo Monday - Mojo 146

Good morning everyone!!  New sketch up this morning from Mojo Monday - this one designed by Julee Tilman.  Love it!!! Mojo Monday's sketches are always so fun!!  Here's the sketch and my take.  I just love this image's hair.  Tooo funny!!   I must admit that I shamelessly cased my coloring choices from the talented Jeanne Streiff.  I saw this DT image she did for Kraftin Kimmie and knew I just had to do something similar.  I didn't have YG 93 so I used YG95 and YG 97 instead - but I still think it turned out okay! :) 

No work today because of the holiday in the US so hopefully I'll get a little extra playtime in...and perhaps clean up and organize my scrap desk a little more!! :)  Thanks for stopping by - have a great week everyone! :)

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #66

Another new (to me) challenge blog ...Stamptacular Sunday Challenge ....that I happened upon this week!!   This week the challenge was APETURE.  You basically just have to make a card that has some sort of hole in the front.  :)   I got a few Kimmie images from my friend Ann (thanks Ann) and was dying to use my copics on these!!    Waiting for the stickles to dry was painful and I spent WAY too much time futzing with the circles on this one - but regardless, here she is! :)   I have a few more of these images to ink up but I just realized it's 7PM and we haven't had dinner yet!! That's what happens when you spend countless hours at the craft desk....time flies!!!

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge!

Found a new challenge blog this week - the Secret Crafter.  Challenge are posted on Saturdays!! Check it out.  This week they want to see some water in your creation!!   No problem...here's my submission:

You may recognize the sketch I used to make this card.  It's from this week's Sketch Saturday (see below).  I just loved this sketch so had to use it again!! :)

Lily of the Valley!!

My new favorite company!!  When I saw these little guys I just knew I had to have some!! :)  This week was a sketch challenge at Lily of the Valley.  You may have noticed that sketches are growing on me.   I never used to like them but when it comes to making cards - they just work!

Here's my take on the sketch.    I also used this card for the "Stitch Challenge" at Papertake Weekly and for the "Metal Challenge" at Charisma's Cardz Challenge Blog.   I still have a few new images that need to see some ink this weekend, so stay tuned!! :)

Sunday Sketch and Stamp!

Okay - so I'm catching up from last Sunday...but its been a BUSY week!!! Here is the sketch we had to use....:

And here's my take on it.  I used the palette technique on her dress and hat.  I will be showing how to do this technique (if you are interested) on the Savvy N Sassy message board on July 15th so do check there for this uber simple technique.  I just love how it turns out!! :)

Sketch Saturday - July 3rd

Happy Saturday everyone!! Today I found some time to sit at my desk and mess around with some new Hanglar images that I was given by Heidi at the Stamp Shoppe for winning the Blog Contest last month!!  Anyway this week at Sketch Saturday we had to use this sketch:
