A cozy cup sleeve!!

Well, there was no work this morning, common after a pay period cut off - so I took full advantage and decided to spend the morning at my craft desk - finishing up some Christmas cards and getting odds and ends done before we leave for the weekend.  I had seen this little tutorial over at Splitcoast Stampers and I was dying to give it a whirl.  It's a gift for a friend of mine who always joins me at the freezing cold ice rink to chat with me while my little guy plays hockey!!   I wanted one for me too...so I actually made two!! :)  Here is the tutorial in case you are wanting to make one for yourself.....
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/feltcupsleeve/

And here is MY version:

Hard to see in the picture - but there are sparkles (Ranger stickles)  and "snow" (liquid applique) on the trees.  This stuff actually puffs up to give it a little dimension.  :)  I sponged the back ground with my Memento inks - Desert Sand and Summer Sky.  The cardstock is sewn to felt for stability - it really is cozy!! :)
Thanks for stopping by....come again soon!! :)

Allsorts Challenge Blog....

Another new challenge blog spotted this week - Allsorts Challenges!!  This week's theme (last minute Christmas projects) cracked me up as I am soooo far behind.  I am scrambling to make Christmas Cards this week while trying to work and look after the usual stuff around here.  Why am I so late??? Wasn't THIS the year I was going to be soooo organized??? How did we go from the beginning of November to 12 days left!!! Sheesh!!! Anyway...here's my card for the Allsorts challenge!! Once again - thanks for stopping by!! More to come soon!! :)

Spoonful Of Sugar....

Here's my card (which I might add I shamelessly cased from the Splitcoast Gallery - the site is down but I promise to give credit when I can get on!!)
Thanks for stopping by!! ....Lisa :)

Charisma Cardz - Challenge #45 - Sympathy

Well, I took a break from Christmas cards for just a moment to take in this week's challenge over at Charisma Cardz.  From the title of this post ...you may have summized that the theme of this week's cards is "Sympathy".  I saw a demo on Stamp TV the other day and I've been wanting to try this technique....so I thought this theme would be perfect!!  Here is my attempt at sympathy cards, which I think HAVE to be kept simple to be effective.  Thanks for stopping by - I'll have another Christmas Card for you later!! :)

Sweet Sketch Wednesday - Challenge #74

Here's this week's sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday:

And here's my take on it this week.  It felt sooo great to get to my craft desk again - even if it was just for a morning!!! :)  Thanks for stopping by - hope to have more soon!!

Cute Card Thursday - Challenge #137 - Gently Does It!

Good morning everyone!  Well, the challenge this week over at Cute Card Thursday was to use any type of vellum, parchment or tissue paper on your card.  Well, I had to dig in the vault to find some vellum cuz I knew I had some somewhere.  I finally found some so used it to punch out some snowflakes for embellishements on my card.  I really like how wintery they look even though I chose not to add anything glittery to them.  Just a small pearl for effect.  Hope you like my card! :)

Stamptacular Sunday - Challenge #84

This week over at Stamptacular Sunday the challenge was to lift something from the DT.  I chose to lift Cheri and used her sketch  for the challenge - just because I'm totally into sketches lately - especially since my mojo has been missing for far too long (as evidenced by the last time I posted something):

And here is my take on her sketch.  I just love this Whimsy Stamps image "Starry Night".  I thinks it's one of the cutest stamps out there and I'm not usually one that's big on animals.  This one is just adorable if you ask me and I think I'll be using it ALOT!! :)  Thanks for stopping by - lots more to come! :)

Rag Technique

The Rag Technique was this month's copic tip at Savvy N Sassy!! Ann did a fabulous tutorial here for it.  I must say, not one of my favorites ...I'm way too sloppy to pull this one off.  I had colorless blender EVERYWHERE.  I also found my images bled a little too much for my liking.  I'm not fond of the bleeding!!! Anyway - here are my creations for this month:

I used the rag technique on her dress and hat.  You can really see this technique adds texture.  It almost looks velvety!!! :)

On my second card, I tried the technique on her hair.  Interesting - definitely some texture.   I stole a couple of the techniques I used on this card (the pin pricks, matting, etc) from my friend Peggy - she ROCKS The Greeting Farm Stamps and I love what she does with them. Thought I'd give her style a whirl for this one!! I do believe she even has a few sets of these stamps in her store - Stamp, Paper, Glue!!! Thanks PEG!!! :)

My last card is just me - messing around and coloring.  I really wish you could SEE how much the snowflake sparkles in real life.  Shame I can't get a better picture!! I really do need lessons.  Or maybe I need to start taking pictures in the morning outside - instead of at night time under my Ott light.  Well, alas...that's just when I happen to be most productive.  One day I'll get better at it!! :)  Thanks for stopping by!! Have a great weekend!!!

How fun to visit her blog (okay yes, I'll admit it - I stalk her blog cuz it's so awesome)...and find this little number.  Anyway, there are a ton of blogs I could forward this too - but for today...I'll just choose this one!!

Happy travels today Ann - safe journey and Happy Thanksgiving!! Have a great weekend!!

Thanks for stopping by everyone - I should have some more projects for you after the weekend sometime.  I've been working hard this week and that leaves little time for crafting!! Soon though....very soon!!!

Totally Tilda and ANOTHER Sketch Saturday!!!

Good morning everyone....Well, this week's challenge over at Totally Tilda is to use glitter and sparkle.  Well, sadly...glitter and sparkle don't really show up online but I'll just mention that I have used glitter on her dress (it looks blue in the picture but its really purple glitter in real life) and I've also used bling on my title tag.
Also....you might have recognized the sketch from the post below...It's the sketch from Sketch Saturday this week.  I liked it so much I just had to make another card.  I just flipped it and used it again!! :)

We're looking forward to a weekend of scrapping and visiting and of course eating...with perhaps a few glasses of wine thrown in for good measure!! :)    Can't wait to just kick back and create!! It's been far too long!!

My recent FOs (Finished Objects!)

Okay - so first I finished these....
and then.....I started and finished this:

This was wool I purchased while on Hornby Island this summer.  I bought a skein for myself and my cousin bought one for her.  Then we bought the needles and I proceeded to knit her a scarf while on the island.  I finally just got around to knitting my own.  The colors were obtained naturally from hand dying using the most bizarre items.  My cousin's scarf was almost gold and it was dyed from polyspores (which is some kind of mossy type stuff found around the base of a tree).  My scarf was dyed using mushrooms.  It's almost a pinky color in real life...I just love it.  Anyway, the gal's blog is http://www.sheepthrillsyarn.blogspot.com/.  It's facinating to me to see how she does this.  I aspire to learn how to dye one day....and the more natural the better.  She mentioned you can do some pretty cool stuff with carrot tops, etc.  I can only imagine!! :)  Anyway, ....now that I've completed those two items....today I started on these:

I've definitely been bitten by the sock bug....and if you look closely - you will see some beads!!! I've always been a big fan of beads....so by combining the two of them.....its a PERFECT MATCH!!! I'll keep you posted on my progress! :)

Memories & More!!!

Just a few things I whipped up for Gina at Memories and More.  My products this month were Imaginisce Christmas stamps and papers, Just Rite floral stamps with the paper dolls collection from Crate paper and a few papers from Karen Foster.  The floral stamps were a little out of my comfort zone but I think the projects turned out okay.  I showcased a couple of them in my copic reveal post last Monday, but here are a few of the rest:
The card with the three snowflakes I shamelessly lifted in its entirety from a gal by the name of Shaela from Yellow Umbrella Designs.   She was a guest designer at the Christmas Card Challenge Blog.   I just thought her card was soooo super cute and it had been quite a while since I worked with my embossing powders so I thought I'd give it a try!!! :) I just love all the inspiration that you can find on the net these days!!   Oh...and on another note - I finished my socks...yes BOTH!!!!  I will have a picture up shortly! :)

Sketches: Creatively Yours

A while ago I posted that I was the guest designer over at Sketches: Creatively Yours this month.   Here's a couple of things I've been working on!!
The first sketch looked like this:
...and this was my take on it.

The second week's sketch looked like this:

....and this was my take on it:

Today's sketch was a card, made by my copic partner in crime at Savvy n Sassy,  Ann Seleshanko:

Here's my take on this one!!

I still have two more layouts to do until the end of the month - but now you're up to speed with the stuff I've done so far anyway!! :)  Lots of goodies yet to come!!

September Copic Reveal....

Here's some items I worked on for September's Copic reveal over at Savvy n Sassy!!   This month we used the Brick Wall Technique!    If you're interested, you can find the technique reveal here:  Brick Wall Technique.    My first two cards showcase this.    The next two cards are just some floral cards I made using Just Rite stamps given to me from Gina at Memories and More.  I have few more cards to do up for her - so I'll be sure to post those once I'm finished!!  Stay tuned! :)
